The ICE agent who is believed to have a shot a man in Maine is described by both of his ex-wives as dangerous and violent. “He has mental health issues, he’s short-tempered, he’s reactive,” one said. The other said he broke down her door, destroyed her belongings and spit in her face. Even the agent's best friend describes him as violent and "prone to start fights." https://t.co/j1WiC0WnUN Was this a failure of ICE vetting? In one sense, yes, but remember that when ICE went on a hiring spree last year, it sought out macho, aggressive hires. And now one more man is dead at the hands of ICE.
I will repeat a number I use in every speech: we are close to having 70% of Americans living in only 15 of our states, 50% of Americans living in eight states. The skew in the electoral college is becoming greater by the day.
President Trump used to brag about all the money we were making from tariff revenue.
Last month, that trend flipped to a $26 billion loss as the government started paying back the tariffs the Supreme Court ruled illegal.
The refund bill is just getting started.
The abuse the ex wife of the Maine ICE agent details in NPR interview is horrifying, including a 2022 police report of throwing his 13 year old daughter through a coffee table, a voice mail from last year saying her throat should be cut, and pulling a gun on her in the shower. She questions if ICE runs even a basic background check on recruits.
Things conservatives told me when I was in my 20’s:
*Character counts
*Crony capitalism is bad
*Russia is our enemy
*Tariffs are taxes
*The Constitution is sacrosanct
*Government power should be limited, restrained, and checked by congress.
Guess they were just joking.
A federal judge appointed by Donald Trump scolded the Department of Justice for submitting a court filing that included fake case law, which appeared to have been hallucinated by AI. https://t.co/xHWb6rEmUU

How pathetic is Sen. Thom Tillis?
Tillis: Because of my deep respect for the survivors, I won’t vote for Blanche unless he meets with them.
The survivors: Well, we had a meeting and Blanche was totally unhelpful, dismissive, and disrespectful,
Tillis: I’m good.
SCOOP: Top Treausry tax official and acting IRS chief counsel Ken Kies was ousted from his job after he warned that the White House was at risk of violating a federal law prohibiting senior officials’ involvement in IRS audits.

This is really incredible. Docs released by Trump tonight confirm RUSSIA tried to spread claims Biden was engaged in criminal activity vis-a-vis Burisma and that it advanced those narratives "with US officials" and planed a "high-profile corruption scandal... at the peak of the 2020 US presidential campaign."
It is tempting to simply view this speech with derision. A feeble demagogue lying over and over. It is far more dangerous and insidious. Trump is trying to lay the predicate to declare a national emergency and seize control of the election machinery. Potentially to seize control of television and radio outlets. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
I watched the whole thing so you didn’t have to.
It was a 25 minute deranged pitch for one piece of legislation that has no chance of passing.

ICE shooter's ex-wife told the Portland Press Herald today he asked her "to lie for him and to cover for his character. I told him that I was not going to lie for him.”

A point to consider before Trump's speech about foreign interference in US elections is that our own intel community notes a key component of foreign interference is to do things that the undermine "public confidence in the electoral process"—which Trump will do in this speech
