Diogo Jota made his debut for Liverpool FC on 24 September 2020, as he entered the pitch in the second half of a 7-2 win over Lincoln City in the League Cup. Most people remember that game for the weird goal from Divock Origi. Jota replaced Harvey Elliott just before the hour mark, when the Reds were already 5-0 up.
What was the first time you saw Diogo with your own eyes? For me, it was a bit of an unusual one: he played for Portugal U21s and bagged the winner (1-0) against Poland in front of a fairly modest crowd of 13,000 in Zabrze on 16 November 2018. I was actually sat quite close to the goal where he scored past Liverpool academy goalkeeper Kamil Grabara. Joao Felix with the assist, if my memory serves me right.

Fabio Aurelio, a Brazilian left-back who signed for the Reds in 2006 after a successful six-year spell at Valencia, was born in São Carlos on 24 September 1979.

Which means Liverpool FC had two left-backs born on 24 September at the same time, as John Arne Riise is exactly a year younger than Aurelio.

David Henderson, a bit of a forgotten striker from Callander in Scotland, made his Liverpool FC debut on 23 September 1893 and he commemorated the occasion with a goal in a 3-1 win over Birmingham at Anfield. Jimmy Stott scored the other two goals for LFC.
Henderson spent around 11 months at the club, scoring 12 goals in 23 appearances. He was Liverpool's second best goalscorer in the 1893-94 campaign when they went unbeaten in the Second Division, winning it and gaining the promotion.

Robbie Fowler was on fire when Bolton Wanderers came to Anfield on 23 September 1995.

Things looked done and dusted, but he didn't stop there. When the clock hit the 67th minute, Fowler got a pass from Steve McManaman. The defender left him a lot of space, as if nothing had happened earlier in the game. Standing on the edge of the penalty area, he firmly placed it into the goalkeeper's bottom right corner. Get in. Four nil.
Although Bolton tried to fight back with goals from Andy Todd and Mark Patterson, Steve Harkness made put the game to bed soon after, making it 5-2. The game will be remembered for having only one hero, though, and that hero has to be Robbie Fowler, a cheeky lad from Toxteth who started from the bottom and went on to score 183 goals for Liverpool FC.

Harry Kewell was born on 22 September 1978 in Smithfield. Liverpool FC signed him from Leeds in the summer of 2003, paying £5m. The Australian winger went on to score 16 goals in 139 games for the Reds. The expectations were much higher, but he had some good moments at LFC.

Robbie Fowler was selected to play up front alongside Ian Rush when Liverpool FC challenged Fulham at Craven Cottage on 22 September 1993 and the young Toxteth lad found the net during the 3-1 win. A true star in the making...

Liverpool FC boss (1936-1951) George Kay was born on 21 September 1891 in Manchester. He led the Reds to the First Division title in 1947 and the FA Cup final in 1950.
