… I’ve had a positive experience with @amazon grocery delivery— but it does make me wonder where the groceries are coming from? Is there some warehouse near me?And are they available everywhere or just in metro areas?
I was ordering groceries yesterday and realized @amazon had better prices this week on almost everything. I was skeptical about their produce and milk, but have been pleased with the quality. Even popsicles arrived frozen…
@naurpillled I am pro kid leash. It gives kids more independence and autonomy than they would otherwise get. Because it isn’t leash or no leash for some kids. It is leash or 5-pt harnessed stroller. Leash is a great tool while they learn some self control.
@LadyNimby My husband is pretty much running by the grocery store on his way home daily. But we live in the ‘burbs so this poses no logistical problem. There are 7 grocery stores within 3 miles of my house. We do buy some things in bulk, but I’ve accepted daily grocery runs.
@wirmgurl Also, my kids are late walkers, so I wasn’t chasing a toddler while massively pregnant. The 15 month old learned to walk the week before the baby was born.
@wirmgurl I thought it was easier to be pregnant with a smaller toddler. They were still napping and acting like a smaller baby. I wasn’t concerned with potty training and newborn stuff. Much easier in a lot of ways. But they did sometimes feel like twins, like at bedtime.
@wrowclif There is research that suggests some problems originating from the placenta (preeclampsia being one) are actually from the father’s genetics.
@mrsdobbins_ As a L&D nurse, we’re not stressing if you’re 37-41 weeks. Even 35-36 and 42 weeks, we’re not stressing, we just have some extra things to do/watch for. The only reason I’m ever looking to make sure you’re 39 is if you are induced with no medical indication.
@alt1na1 You need a couple dozen in my experience. Babies leak. Towels are bulky and not as portable or convenient. Muslin is cotton that is wrinkly like an old quilt. Best burp cloths are handmade with towel on the back and quilting cotton on the front. Muslin are second place.
@holyhomemaking There are many factors that might require transfer that have nothing to do with willpower or exhaustion. So, some flexibility is definitely required. Do yourself a favor and deal with the fear before you get to that point.
Best mashed potatoes:
Cut into chunks (with skin), boil with a couple cloves of garlic, drain, and mash with butter (lots), milk, salt, & pepper (lots).
What do you mean?
How would you normally make mash?
I peel potatoes, chop then boil. Once soft...drain, mash and add milk and butter (and seasoning if preferred).
Is this not already the universal way of making mashed potatoes?
