Summer is a great time for well-child checkups and routine vaccines. Vaccines help keep children active and healthy. LLCHD offers vaccines at no cost or low cost to eligible families through its Vaccines for Children Program - https://t.co/BYJjjFHXdK or call 402-441-8065.
Take these precautions to avoid mosquito bites:
- Use an EPA-registered insect repellent when spending time outside.
- Limit time outdoors at dusk and dawn when mosquitoes are most active.
- Wear long-sleeved shirts, pants, shoes and socks when outside.
Prevent mosquito bites over Juneteenth and Fourth of July weekends. Mosquitoes have tested positive for West Nile virus (WNV) within Lincoln, which can mean increased transmission of WNV in the community. No human cases of WNV have been reported in Lancaster County at this time.
Our offices will be closed on Friday, June 19 in observance of Juneteenth. We'll resume normal business hours Monday, June 22.
HazToGo, Lincoln's Hazardous Waste Center, and GoodToGo, Lincoln's Reuse Store, at 5101 N. 48th St. will also be closed on Friday for the holiday.
