In front of our old studio/rehearsal space in Silverlake. Until we got kicked out so they could build a huge high rise, so we played a moving out rooftop show.
"I think I always knew this wasn’t going to be a typical LN song... so I wasn’t totally surprised when it didn’t make the cut for Sunlit Youth but I always had a soft spot for this track, in all its raw, unfinished glory..." - Ryan Hahn

Past Lives vs. Villainy as the open track off Sunlit Youth. We debated for years (and are currently still debating it a decade later). What do you think?

Every month we'll be opening up our vaults & sharing at least one piece of unreleased music + an essay from one of us. These essays will be in conversation with you: you can submit questions a la Nick Cave's Red Hand Files.
The music will be songs that didn't make albums past or alternate versions or demos or live recordings (maybe even fully releasing archived concerts at some point!), etc. We'll make these live stream Q&A's a regular thing too!

Also "Past Lives" turns 10 today. I remember because someone in a label meeting mentioned releasing the same day miiight be a problem bc this was PEAK Drake era. Hoping this doesn't provoke a Drake LN diss track 🤞🏼
Happy 10th Past Lives. You shoulda opened Sunlit as track 1
