Uganda continues to face serious challenges including high cost of living, youth unemployment, poor service delivery, corruption, insecurity, land conflicts, rising public debt, and disregard for the rule of law. These challenges demand an Opposition that is united, informed, and prepared to provide leadership. Ugandans expect us not only to identify what is wrong, but also to demonstrate how it can be done better.

After 19 days of incommunicado detention, NUP Deputy President - Buganda Region, Hon. Muwanga Kivumbi, has today been charged at Butambala Magistrate's Court with incitement of violence and managing an unlawful society.

He has been remanded to prison until 11 August 2026.
