Today we celebrate Juneteenth. June 19, 1865, commemorates when Union soldiers physically liberated thousands that were still enslaved in Galveston, TX effectively ending legal slavery in the USA.
Juneteenth is a day of celebration, but also a day of remembrance.

Today, the U.S. Senate confirmed Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson as a Supreme Court justice. She will be the first Black woman to serve as a justice on the nation's highest court. Congratulations, Justice Jackson!
