We had an in-depth conversation with Ann, an LRF beneficiary and now a champion for widows’ property rights and protection. She supports a group of 70+ widows, confidently advocating for their rights and empowering others to understand and claim what is rightfully theirs.

Through an engaging conversation, the women shared their experiences, progress and initiatives, offering a glimpse into how knowledge and awareness of their rights are helping them navigate property and succession matters and seek justice.

This week, we commenced a capacity-strengthening training for 31 Alternative Justice Systems (AJS) practitioners from Elgeyo Marakwet County, reaffirming our shared commitment to expanding access to affordable, timely, and people-centred justice.

He encouraged practitioners to faithfully discharge their mandate and handle only matters provided for under the law, in line with the Constitution and the AJS Policy Framework.

Deputy County Commissioner Mr. Herbert Okombo Akaliche reaffirmed the National Government's support for AJS as a cost-effective and timely dispute resolution mechanism that preserves community harmony.
