One of the oldest myths stem from the Siberian steppes of the crossroads of the world, a mysterious place where culture predates all known civilizations. The Cosmic Egg, a metaphor for the pattern we recognize as life. Inside this closed environment exists a reality unleashed when hatched; concentric layers undulate from nothingness revealing the perpetual cycles of birth & death. That which is forms from what was within, signifying how every part contains the whole as a living practice in thinking. An awareness of cause & effect was bestowed upon the ancients who engaged life rigorously in order to experience direct connection with the universal energies.

In this primordial vision I paint one of our earliest God constructs, the serpent, mythologized as a symbol of knowledge. This same deity appears in Genesis as well many other serpent worshiping cultures around the world such as the Naga. It is often times seen taking on the form of a feathered serpent, like the dragon in ancient Chinese lore & Kukulkan/Quetzalcoatl as it is known to the Aztecs depicted throughout their stone temples & rock art carvings.

Vedic teachings recognize this symbol as the Kundalini energy running through our spinal cord up into our brains tying our limbic system into the vast electromagnetic field of consciousness, while ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs in Dendera portray the serpent more literally as electricity itself. The fact that both Pharaohs & Shiva were so often depicted accompanied by this half-divine creature is more than just coincidence.

Whether it is a 200k year old tale as told by the Vedas or 4.5 billion years old as some believe, the Cosmic Egg & Serpent is nonetheless a shared myth so ancient its become source, transcending time itself. Deep within there is gnosis waiting to be discovered. #cosmicegg #metaphysicalsurrealism
