At only 27 years old, Mr Coners also affectionalty known as Cone, the C Man, J Cone, etc will be great missed and is gone far too soon. My thoughts and prayers go to his family and the LTHS community. Though a Marist grad, he will always be a Porter.
Very saddened to hear about the passing of Mr John Coners, a Lockport teacher. By all accounts, he was beloved by students and faculty a like. You would often see him at football games working with the ROTC, working the chain gang, or interacting with students.
To the LTHS Class of 2020 and your families-much was taken from you at the end of senior year. Today was our way of saying thank you and giving you a lasting, special memory of your time at LTHS. Good luck to you all! And, as always, “Go Porters!”
I’m going to be selfish right now. I want to see my students in August. I want to see my runners. I want to have a cross country season. I want to see my friends. WEAR A MASK.
Remember when folks said, “You can’t make me wear a seatbelt”?Or “I don’t need a car seat for my baby!” Know anyone who doesn’t wear a seatbelt? Doesn’t put their infant in a car seat? Let’s commit to safety for all. Wear a mask.
An important announcement for Porter families and our seven feeder districts. We will spend the week unpacking these guidelines and next week announce community town halls for parents and guardians to give feedback on how school will open on August 17, 2020. #besttogether
“It looked like the Sun wasn’t goin’ shine no more, but God put a rainbow in the Sky.” There is always hope. Schools can help this nation. Listen to Mahalia Jackson or Maya Angelou sing this spiritual. You Tube it. You will feel the love.
We took to the streets with the @LockportPolice and this is what happened. Thank you to all of the police officers and the City of Lockport for supporting our seniors. Clapping. Laughing. Spontaneous outbreaks of Porter Pride erupted. #besttogether
Yesterday, was a simple, joyful celebration of youth, accomplishments, diversity, and school professionals. Unity. Fellowship. Hope. Mexican flags. Filipino flags. Black. White. A joyful street protest!
A great day celebrating the LTHS Class of 2020! Thank you to everyone who came out! A special thanks to our staff and the Lockport Police Department for organizing and supporting a day to honor our seniors!
