So we are just adding extra things into controllers that the user canโt replicate on their own and calling it legit now and selling it to the masses? What is it with removing skill from everything nowadays to appease people who are just not good enough
Good conversation on Finals format - this is essentially showing the impact of the bracket reset. While we all agree the Winnerโs Bracket team deserves an advantage, our position has been that having two lives in the Finals is too big of an edge and this data seems to reinforce that. WB teams winning 80% of the time entering the Finals can dampen the excitement: 1) The outcome seems predetermined and 2) during the match it's not as intense since it's not do-or-die for the WB team during a large portion of the match.
Now should there be a bigger advantage for WB? Potentially (e.g., 1 map win). But we donโt think a bracket reset is the answer. Winning 4x as much (vs the 2nd best team no less) seems imbalanced and Iโd argue that the now 60/40 split between winner of WB and LB is much healthier
Open events were the shit. There was something special about the MLG pro circuit being on tour, coming to your city and everyone being able to pull up.
You buy a team pass and go as far as your skill takes you. Get a shot at the pros. Maybe even end up on main stage if you were good enough. The allure of that was unmatched.
