1/2 A new wolf has arrived in #Vilnius. Created by Italian artist Davide Rivalta & a gift from Embassy of Italy, the sculpture connects Vilnius and Rome—two cities whose stories are inseparable from the wolf. It marks 35 years of restored #Lithuania–#Italy diplomatic relations.

So this tree must have taken root around 1626… and just imagine what it has witnessed: the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, the partitions, the uprisings, the national awakening, WWI & independence in 1918, WWII & occupations - then finally independence in 1990… What a life! 🌳
