We were going to retire the #3 in honor of Greg Brooks, but that doesn’t let us tell his story.
Instead, we have elected to make the #3 jersey our captain’s jersey, in honor of the young man that is in the fight of his life. #FightFor3
Not even slightly surprised by the one-handed pick-six.
Honestly more surprised he didn’t land the backflip perfectly.
Those entire @LABootleggers teams used to run off hitting series of simultaneous flips, every which way, one after the other.
For LVAY’s new player awards’ namesakes, we focused on recent greats from early in our media and coaching careers — or even a bit more recently with Stingley.
Coach Charlie Brown’s professional career predates that timeframe. But he was immediately a first name that came to mind in this process.
I am grateful to have gotten to spend a lot of time with him early in my career at so many Neville practices and grateful to his family being on board with us naming this award for coach.
And what an awesome dynamic for Benjy to be the first winner.
Introducing the Louisiana vs. All Y’all Charlie Brown Coach of the Year…
Honoring the late, great Neville coach whose 30-year record stands among the state’s elite.
And inaugural winner Benjy Lewis, whose Ouachita Parish team exemplified resilience in its — dare we say unique — run to the program’s first state championship since 1989.

Was already excited seeing everybody posting from early-enrollee move-ins.
Guys taking care of their HS academics & starting their college dreams at LSU & other great programs around the country.
Then I see new my guy Jabari Mack hop out in the @LAvsAllYall shirt ✊🥺
After 17 incredible years, the Louisiana Bootleggers 7v7 era comes to a close. From humble beginnings to a national legacy, we’ve built more than a team — we built a family. Thank you to every player, coach, and supporter who repped the Boot. #BootleggersForever 💚💜🏆
This past spring felt weird to not see a primary/consistent Bootleggers presence on the national circuit.
Now the godfathers of the Louisiana travel 7v7 scene announcing an official pause.
Grateful for having had the opportunity to be around the program the years I was able to.
