Labor Militant has campaigned on the ground for Kshama Sawant in WA, Ramsey Robinson & the Vote Socialist slate in CA, Aida Ashouri in LA, the Socialist Party of Indiana, Andre Easton in NY, and Brittany Kubicek in RI.

We’ve done all of this as a very small organization. There’s no excuse for other socialists not to do the same.

We need to break the sectarianism and unite around an independent socialist strategy.

We have been supporting Kshama, PSL candidates, Brittany Kubicek, Socialist Party of Indiana, Working Class Party, etc. We are not part of Kshama’s organization, which has also been sectarian towards other groups.

We need to stop the sectarianism and support independent socialists (not Democrats).

This Pride weekend, our members were building support for striking hotel workers with @UniteHereLocal8

In just two days, we raised $500 for their strike fund!💰🪧

We’re launching a WEEK OF ACTION to support the strike. 50 percent of ALL one-time donations to United Front will go directly to striking workers, from now until July 4. The other half will be used to fund our strike support efforts & our Get Out the Vote campaign for independent socialists like @cmkshama.

Larger organizations, including @DemSocialists, @SeattleDSA, @wrkrsstrikeback & @mlklabor should do the same.

The union’s bargaining team is meeting with Hilton today to hear a new offer. So far, Hilton has offered nothing close to workers’ demands. Despite making $3 billion in profits the last two years, Hilton has proposed a CUT in workers’ real wages.

Workers should take full control of the strike. Rank-and-file workers have the right to discuss & vote on any tentative agreement on the picket line, before ending the strike. Once a strike is suspended, momentum is lost, and it’s much more difficult to resume the strike if workers reject the offer. Union members should exercise their rights, and refuse to return to work until a full discussion & vote takes place.

If Hilton doesn’t give workers what they need today, it’s time to escalate the strike.

Workers should expand the picket lines to 24 hours & shut down the hotel’s ability to function. Socialists & labor can help them do it.

@UniteHereLocal8 leaders & staff have said they can’t do this because it would violate the city’s noise ordinance. This is a weak excuse for not escalating the strike.

Even in recent UNITE HERE-led hotel strikes, workers have held 24-hour pickets. If @MayorofSeattle Katie Wilson and the Democrats try to enforce the noise ordinance, labor should announce plans to replace them in next year’s elections. And if the police try to break up picket lines, unions & socialists should organize mass pickets at ALL hours of the night, to make the order unenforceable.

Workers can win big, but they need to take control from union leaders who are hesitating and holding back the strike.

If workers decide to reject Hilton’s newest offer & escalate the strike, we’ll stand with them every step of the way.

Nearly 800 anti-trans bills have been introduced in state legislatures so far in 2026. We urgently need to fight back against these attacks, and we need to go on the offensive for working-class demands like free healthcare for all, including free gender-affirming care.

We have to break the trans rights movement away from the deathgrip of the Democrats and their political stooges. To beat the anti-trans attacks, we need a movement with socialist leadership that will organize rallies, walkouts, sick-outs, and strikes, and build a working-class party to stand with all oppressed people.
