ICTEL Expo 2026 Concludes with Renewed Commitment to Africa's Digital Future.
The 12th ICTEL Expo 2026, hosted by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), successfully concluded its two-day programme on 28th and 29th July 2026, reaffirming its position as one of Africa's foremost platforms for technology, innovation, and digital transformation.
Held under the theme, "Africa's Next Tech Frontier: Building, Securing and Scaling Digital Prosperity," the Expo convened policymakers, technology innovators, investors, business leaders, regulators, entrepreneurs, academics, and digital transformation experts from across the continent to deliberate on practical strategies for advancing Africa's digital economy.
In his welcome address, the President of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Engr. Leye Kupoluyi, emphasized that Nigeria's digital economy has become one of the country's strongest drivers of non-oil growth and stressed that the choices made today will determine Africa's future technology leadership. He called for accelerated investment in digital infrastructure, improved access to capital, and a more predictable regulatory environment to foster innovation and business growth.
Throughout the event, participants engaged in insightful keynote addresses, high-level panel discussions, exhibitions, product demonstrations, and strategic networking sessions that showcased innovative technologies and solutions driving economic growth and digital inclusion. Conversations centred on emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, fintech, digital infrastructure, digital skills development, and the policy frameworks needed to position Africa as a globally competitive technology hub.
ICTEL's position as one of Africa's leading technology and innovation platforms reinforces the importance of collaboration between government, the private sector, development partners, and academia in building a resilient digital future. Participants expressed optimism that the recommendations and partnerships forged during the event would significantly advance Africa's digital transformation agenda and unlock new opportunities for sustainable prosperity across the continent.

LCCI Reviews Nigeria's Economic Outlook at Third-Quarter Press Conference
The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) held its 2026 Third-Quarter Press Conference on July 22, 2026, to address the current state of the economy, and advocate for policies that support sustainable growth.
In attendance were the Engr. Leye Kupoluyi, President and Chairman of Council LCCI; Prince Abimbola Olashore, FCA, Deputy President LCCI; Engr. Opeyemi Aminu, Vice President LCCI; Princess Layo Bakare-Okeowo, Vice President and Chairperson of the Trade Promotions Board LCCI; and Dr. Chinyere Almona, FCA, Director General LCCI.
During his address, the President expressed appreciation to the media for their outstanding coverage of previous press conferences over the years. Among other requests, LCCI urged the Federal Government to implement reforms that strengthen the business environment, improve infrastructure, and ensure policy consistency. To enhance the ease of doing business, the Chamber advocated for greater regulatory efficiency, fair pricing practices, stronger enforcement of compulsory insurance, reforms in education and immigration, support for digital transformation, and incentives for indigenous businesses.
The session provided valuable insights and updates on the economic and business landscape, further reaffirming LCCI's commitment to sustaining a vibrant and competitive business environment.
