Today, we welcomed Minister of State for Skills, Baroness Jacqueline Smith.

She joined key partners involved in the Festival of Work in our Graduates Restaurant for a meal cooked and prepared by catering learners.

This was then followed by a tour of our college.

Learners have been putting their teamwork, communication and practical skills to the test during an exciting challenge held by our Motor Vehicle lecturers.

Each team worked against the clock to assemble the wheels on a racing kart, with the fastest team taking the win!

Pupils have took part in a fantastic health workshop this morning, learning all about the human body and staying healthy!

This morning, pupils have been taking part in some hands-on workshops, such as this one from Cumbria Institute of Sport.

Learners are looking at the different pathways available through the programme, as well as taking measurements of heart rates and blood pressure.

This morning, pupils had took part in a Q&A session with MP of Whitehaven and Workington Josh MacAlister OBE.

He spoke to pupils about his role as a Member of Parliament and his path to becoming one, as well as some of the projects he has been working on for his constituents.

Festival of Work at Lakes College with All Together Cumbria has kicked off this morning.

We are welcoming hundreds of secondary school pupils from across West Cumbria to meet employers and education and training providers.

Our learners and staff had the incredible opportunity to take part in the Karya Agung Pura Puseh festival parade - a truly special cultural experience.

On Tuesday, our learners and staff in Bali arrived at their next accommodation, Bali Kuno.

They started the evening with some ice breakers and a traditional Balinese dance class, followed by a peace offering before finally receiving a blessing by a Hindu priest.

Our Assistant Principal, Eliza Treme-Swailes, spent the day visiting teams across the college, delivering cupcakes to celebrate Thank a Teacher Day and recognise the dedication and hard work of our teaching staff! 🍎

Sunshine, sea, and some well-earned relaxation were on the agenda in Bali yesterday!

After breakfast at the hotel, the group headed to Sanur Beach, where they enjoyed some free time, relaxed by the sea, and made the most of the opportunity to cool off with a swim.
