Because they have a vested interest; in opening new coal and gas, in letting the big polluters pollute.

They're working for their donors, not people or the planet.

The destruction is shocking, but these scenes are becoming too familiar as we witness the climate crisis in real time.

Fires and heatwaves raging across Europe and North America. Glacial collapse and flooding across Asia. While here in Australia an El Nino summer approaches.

My heart goes out to the Nepalese community and everyone impacted by the devastating flash flooding that has caused unimaginable damage.

We hope the 39 missing Australians and the 1300 missing others will be found alive, and our hearts break for the 389 people tragically killed.

Australia has more experience responding to natural disasters than most nations, and the government should ensure we are providing humanitarian and consular assistance to Nepal that meets the scale of this disaster. $5 million will barely touch the sides.

You'll be paying for AI every time you turn on the lights or aircon.

With so many workers facing losing their jobs due to AI, you shouldn’t pay for it on every power bill too.

A coal powered data centre rollout means AI will push up power bills for everyone.

Labor says that letting data centres use coal & gas will push up power prices by 13%, and hit Queenslanders the hardest.

They're doing it anyway.

We need to challenge gender inequality and disrespect wherever it occurs, whether that’s at a school, within an AFL club or at home.

And we need to fully fund the frontline services that do the hard work to prevent violence and support the women and children who experience it.

It is good to see the Sydney Swans act, but it’s a disgrace that it took a national outcry before they did so.

This is a serious issue, that is bigger than one AFL club, and a serious response with consequences for the players involved is warranted.

There is an epidemic of violence against women in this country.

We cannot keep ignoring it.

And this government cannot keep underfunding its response.

We need to face up to this horrendous culture if we are going to keep women safe.

We needed these tax changes to see house prices come down out of the stratosphere, and to give first homebuyers a chance - but there’s no fix in isolation.

Freeze rents. Build public housing. Give renters and first homebuyers a chance.

Renters can’t cop another 30% rent increase.

Now real estate agents say it’ll happen, rich property investors are being told to hike up rents as much as they want. Renters are facing unlimited rent increases.

There’s just one way to stop it. We need an immediate rent freeze.

Labor, the Liberals & One Nation will join forces to pass the biggest cut to a gov program this century.

Labor’s legislation will rip $38 billion from the NDIS by decade’s end. 241,000 disabled people could lose access within five years.

These aren’t numbers on a spreadsheet.

Instead they balanced the budget on the backs of disabled people, alongside the Liberals and One Nation.

This cowardly Labor-Liberal deal confirms that when Labor comes under lobbyist pressure they choose their donors over people, every time.

In one foul deal with the Liberals, the PM has abandoned vulnerable Australians and given predatory gambling companies the freedom to overrun our sport and screens.
