Manchester City Council have just awarded a £ 4.7m contract to a EV company.........
Who is the MD of this EV company......Andy Burnhams wife.....what a coincidence!
Remember Makerfield, Burnham is just the same as all the other inept Labour MPs .Truly a man of the people , (the ones he knows.)
Vote @RobKenyonReform
@AlexRSO1234@PeterStefanovi2 Nor does Starmer comment or act when paedophiles with 100s of images of sexual exploitation of children walk free from court.
@stay_remain Today another local shop announced closure. I read UK national debt is rising faster than anywhere except Botswana. On X saw final piece of Denby pottery come out of the kiln. And BBC news said overall inflation is 3.8% (over target 12 months in a row). "He's doing a great job!"?
The failure to secure the border runs from Blair through Brown, Cameron, May, Johnson, Sunak and now Starmer. Robert Jenrick as Immigration Minister oversaw small boat crossings surge from 299 in 2018 to over 45,000 in 2022. The £10 billion in asylum accommodation contracts was a Conservative legacy that Labour has continued and expanded.
The difference is this. Labour came to power promising to smash the gangs and stop the boats. Those were not vague aspirations. They were specific commitments made to the British public in exchange for their votes. The boats have not stopped. The gangs have not been smashed. The asylum hotels are being emptied not because the problem is being solved but because those individuals are being moved into Houses of Multiple Occupation and dispersed into communities across the country. They are no longer concentrated in hotels. They are living among us. Unvetted. Unsupervised. And largely invisible to the statistics that might otherwise prompt political accountability.
Twenty five years of managed failure has produced this. The people on those streets are not living with the consequences of one government or one minister. They are living with the consequences of a political class that has consistently placed the management of the problem above the protection of its own citizens. And the government currently in power made a promise it has shown no intention of keeping.
@daniellismore Could you explain in detail where the figures you quote come from? And, when doing so, please include the impact of Covid, war in Ukraine, war in the Middle East and the impact of poor business decisions by this government. Thank you.
@lowles_nick How much do EU leaders know about us, yet constantly interfere? How much do Labour campaigners who flew to the USA to support the Democrats know about America? How much did Labour MPs know about George Floyd before they showed support for BLM?
You are being a hypocrite, IMO.
HOLY SHIT.
A senior police officer has just admitted to two-tier policing in Birmingham.
When asked why there were almost no police present during violent unrest, he said they “met with community leaders,” allowed the community to “police within themselves,” and chose a “style of policing” because a “small minority of criminals” would attack officers.
Translation: They stood down because certain communities threatened violence against the police — and the police decided it was better for the narrative to let them run wild than to enforce the law.
This is not policing. This is surrender.
Britain now has areas where the state has ceded control to parallel societies that openly threaten violence if the law is applied equally.
The mask is off.
Two-tier policing is real. The police are afraid of certain groups. And the British people are paying the price.
This ends when we say it ends.
Restore law and order. End two-tier policing now.
@Lettie44@dave43law@electricpollcat Could you please clarify? I genuinely have no idea what you mean. In what way has he failed to think things through? He seems to be pretty accurate in his summary of the feelings that most people have about this case.
@TedUrchin Yet he hasn't shown willing to tackle the gang rape crisis, nor has he expressed concern regarding the extremely lenient sentences being given to paedophiles who possess and share explicit images of the sexual exploitation of children. Why is that?
@LabourfutureUK I really think the Labour Party should sit this one out. We are all aware of Labour support for BLM following the death of George Floyd. We know Labour supporters flew to the USA to campaign for Kamala Harris. Not to mention interference that is welcomed from EU politicians.
@CalvinBailey Please either give the exact details of how Farage fuelled further violence or withdraw this statement.
It is disgraceful of you to claim that anyone has incited violence but not provide the evidence that they have done so.
@ShockatAdam Why are you playing the victim card? IMO the UK is one community, not lots of separate communities. And, as far as I am aware, Islam is the only religion in the UK that is protected (anti-Muslim hostility).
Plus this government listens to nobody outside its echo chamber.
@IvanIvanovichC2@mattyglesias The housing crisis is the fact that we do not have sufficient supply of homes for the number of people who need somewhere to live. Forcing landlords to sell homes does nothing to increase the supply of homes, nor does it decrease the size of the population.
@IvanIvanovichC2@mattyglesias I am genuinely confused by your argument. Landlords own properties. Tenants live in those properties. If landlords sell up then those tenants have to find alternative property to rent. How does that solve the housing crisis? The supply of houses stays the same.
@AshfordLabour Please could you give facts, not vague statements? Inflation is higher now than it was when you took over, unemployment is higher, the welfare bill is higher than tax receipts, national debt is rising by the second. Doesn't make for a more prosperous Britain, does it?
