Trust is the adoption barrier nobody is solving for.
Edge AI performance benchmarks don't tell you what happens when a system acts unpredictably in a GPS-denied environment, or why a soldier decides to disengage the technology entirely.
Our CTO and co-founder Sek Chai breaks down five design principles for building trust into edge systems from the ground up — including why deployment is the start of system exposure, not the finish line.

Getting capable technology to the warfighter faster isn't a procurement problem. It's a translation problem.
Commercial developers optimize for what sells. Defense programs optimize for what survives. When those two communities don't understand each other's constraints, good technology stalls in the pipeline.
Our Co-Founder & CTO Sek Chai addressed this directly at the Edge AI Foundation's Mission Critical Edge AI for Defense Industries panel — what it actually takes to bridge that gap, and why COTS adoption in defense isn't just a strategy, it's how we close the capability timeline.

Autonomous systems don't fail because the AI wasn't smart enough. They fail because the systems around the AI couldn't guarantee predictable, certifiable behavior when it mattered.
That's the problem Sek Chai and Dr. Justin Pearson of Wind River dug into on the Military Embedded Systems webinar this week — and it's exactly the kind of cross-industry conversation that moves defense AI from promising to deployable.
Watch now if you're working on embedded systems, autonomous platforms, or defense program integration.

The problems Latent AI solves in defense are the same ones manufacturers are running into on the factory floor. Offline operation. Constrained hardware. No tolerance for latency.
Manufacturers Alliance just published research on AI in design, engineering, production, and maintenance — and Latent AI's Natalia Jurado Espín is cited directly on what it means to act on data at the point of production, not route it somewhere else first.
Defense proved the solution. Manufacturing is adopting it.

Memorial Day. A day set aside to remember the U.S. service members who paid the ultimate price.
We're grateful for what they made possible. Today we think of them and their families.

The last day of #SOFWeek2026, and the demo is still drawing a crowd.
We had the honor of welcoming Indian Special Forces, including Lt Col Sheel Ranawat, to our booth for a hands-on session with our terminal homing capability.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by.

Before a drone can complete a terminal approach autonomously, it has to maintain a persistent track on a moving target — through partial occlusion and changing conditions like camera angle shifts and target speed variation — without losing it.
This is that capability running on real-world footage. It's what sits underneath the terminal homing demo we're bringing to SOF Week.

Today we announced our participation in SOF Week 2026 and what we'll be showing there.
At Booth #5006 in Tampa, we're demonstrating a tracking and terminal homing capability in development for Group 1 and 2 UAS. Built on our Field Tactical Suite, it integrates Automated Target Recognition with flight control on embedded hardware — enabling a drone to autonomously track, lock, and engage an operator-designated target without additional input during the final phase of flight.
Less cognitive load on the operator. No connectivity dependency. Physical AI at the tactical edge.
We'll also be demoing alongside hardware partner One Stop Systems — showing the edge continuum in practice, from a disconnected field operator all the way back to the Pentagon.
SOF Week | May 18–21 | Tampa, FL | Booth #5006 (JW Marriott Level 2) & Meeting Pod 2 (TCC Level 1)

Centralized assumptions break at the edge. No guaranteed connectivity. No tolerance for latency. No room for "full-model-on-everything" inference.
Jags Kandasamy breaks down why distributed inference — decomposing AI workloads across device, edge node, and cloud based on actual task complexity — is how scalable edge AI gets built.

What happens when the operator has locked the target, but still has to manually guide the drone through the terminal phase?
The cognitive load of flying, tracking, and deciding simultaneously limits how much one operator can manage — not the hardware.
Autonomous terminal homing closes that gap: the operator locks the target, and the drone autonomously completes the terminal approach onboard — no operator input or external communications required in the final phase.
We're bringing this demo to SOF Week. See it live at JW Marriott Booth #5006 or Tampa Convention Center Meeting Pod 2.

Three weeks to SOF Week.
Last year we showed one-click tracking and the ability to follow a target. This year we're showing what happens next.
Terminal homing: the drone locks, the AI takes the final approach without GPS or comms. No operator input required. We're bringing it to life at SOF Week through an Unreal Engine simulator that lets you feel the difference between flying it yourself and handing it to the AI.
We'll also be showing Latent Assisted Label on OSS hardware, and Latent Linguist running on HSI's wearable platform. The full edge continuum, from the warfighter's body to the tactical vehicle to the drone overhead.
Two locations this year:
📍 Booth #5006 | JW Marriott L2 (with OSS)
📍 Meeting Pod 2 | Tampa Convention Center L1

Ports move over 100 million tons of cargo annually and support more than a million jobs. They're also increasingly in the crosshairs — from nation-state espionage to adversarial AI to drone threats.
GNSI's Florida Security Forum report lays out the threat landscape and what it will take to secure critical maritime infrastructure.
Our CEO Jags Kandasamy contributed to the Evolving Threats panel and the report's findings.

When AI tools fail in the field, it's rarely because the technology didn't work.
It's because the technology required something the mission couldn't provide — a network connection, a cloud server, a signal.
Latent Linguist was built for the environments where those things don't exist. On-device, offline, real-time — speech, text, and visual translation that works when nothing else does.
Join us and Carahsoft on May 6 to see what that looks like in practice, including a live field perspective from Louisiana State Police.
