@mrdanwalker Kane knew as long as he beat the on-rushing keeper to the ball it was a nailed on pen because the keeper's action was to prevent a clear goal scoring opportunity. Kane doesn't have to take the full hit from a rash challenge, he just has to show he was impeded. Pen!
@HLTCO To all the 'friends of England' on here obsessed with the alleged 'dive' for the pen, here's your answer. Wallop, pick that out son! VAR? ⚽️⚽️⚽️🏴🏴🏴
@HiImTrashlife Note to Harry Kane. Next time a keeper comes out recklessly to prevent a clear goal scoring chance and gets it all wrong don’t change your stride pattern just boot him square in the face. There, done, problem fixed.
@OwenUnitedView He doesn’t need to look for it, he just needs to ensure the contact and go down to get the decision. He’s under no obligation to leap over a keeper who’s committed himself and got it badly wrong.
@HotspurCaIIum The answer is 'throwing beer'. Pay an extra £5 and you get a pint of non-alcoholic sugary water with your actual £20 pint of alcoholic beer to throw. Just don't forget which is which.
It’s the 30th anniversary of England’s semi-final defeat to Germany at Euro ‘96.
And as Wembley emptied that night, the BBC beautifully used ‘Walkaway’ by Cast for their closer.
This is possibly the greatest sad montage of all time. 💔
Can’t wait to lead our team out at another World Cup! Excited to get on the pitch tomorrow with the boys! I know we’ll have incredible support out here and at home! We will give everything we’ve got! 🏴🦁
@afneil@British_Airways If there's a point to be made about airline investment in safety vs customer service it's how dedicated the sector remains to safety despite the external challenges imposed, or caused, by the political establishment.
What are the five areas that @Microsoft and @AmadeusITGroup believe are Agentic-ready for airlines to develop and deploy now in what they say is a defining year for the technology? Find out in this new whitepaper you can download for free. https://t.co/EB5prrY0t3 @avbusinessnews
Fascinating and in depth article by @PaulKnaggs for Labour Heartlands on the framing of the ‘trans debate’ around toilets rather than women’s fundamental rights.
It’s an accurate observation of a highly successful PR campaign. Across the media, presenters last week repeatedly asked women if they feel guilty about men who can’t use their toilets, businesses who can’t afford to build more toilets, and disabled people whose toilets are suggested as alternatives.
But most importantly they’ve not bern asking about anything except toilets. Specifically they’ve failed to ask men/trans campaigners why they don’t understand that if they are included in the legal meaning of ‘woman’, women themselves have no rights at all on the basis of sex.
It follows a pattern of successful ‘identity’ media campaigns, with which news outlets collude because 1. their proponents are very top down and powerful and 2. they advance men’s rights. Previous examples include lived experience journalism, no debate, the narrative of victimhood and the infinite necessity of a trans male contributor.
This excellent article also looks at the impact:- ‘The cost has been real and it has fallen on working class women in particular’.
