Grace and Beth, two of our children's cardiac nurse specialists, yesterday spent the day at @UniOfHull University - teaching the third year student nurses all about Paediatric Cardiology. Thank you for having us again! 🫀
She is passionate about CHD and she cares deeply about her patients and their future. She uses her decades of experience to ensure patients get the best possible care.
She will be missed greatly and we wish her luck on her new adventure 🇦🇺🦘🌏🫀
Some of you may already know that Dr Kate English will is leaving @leeds_hearts as she is moving to Australia.
Kate set up the ACHD service in Leeds almost 20 years ago.
Kate will be missed greatly by both patients and colleagues. It has been an absolute pleasure for us all to work with her. She is not just a colleague but a friend to us all. She takes time to teach and guide others.
The oral health of these children is really important as they are at an increased risk of developing bacterial infections such as infective endocarditis
This was a great collaborative project, thank you to all involved!

This week is Baby Loss Awareness Week.
Tonight, we join in the Wave of Light, thinking of those touched by pregnancy loss or baby loss.

Previously there weren’t any specific resources used routinely to support a child’s oral health.
‘Katie Bear Goes to the Dentist’ and ‘Dental Care for Children with CHD’ will be given to young patients with CHD and their families at clinics across the region.
