@GARFIELDASMITH@___TheGOOdWitch NDE’s are merely psychological phenomena resulting from disturbed bodily multi-sensory integration, generally during a state of reversible clinical death. There’s no reason to assume that it can serve as evidence for hell.
@darwintojesus Just because we don't believe ourselves to be the "pinnacle of life on earth" nor "god-breathed" does not mean we do not value human life.
I don't need to view myself superior to all other life on earth in order to live a fulfilled life, and the fact that your ilk does is sad.
@AgainstAtheismX Maybe because Satan-worshippers (not to be confused with the Satanists who use the name of Satan to combat Christian privilege under the law) aren't constantly trying to shove their faith down our throats, use it as the basis for laws, or push it into education.
@GARFIELDASMITH@___TheGOOdWitch Assuming the Bible's description of heaven is to be taken seriously, you would rather have your agency stripped away and be eternally enslaved by your god? That sounds like a miserable existence to me.
And even without enslavement, eternal life sounds unbelievably horrific.
@GARFIELDASMITH@___TheGOOdWitch Well, given that I don't believe in your god, Satan, or hell, you're 0 for 3. The Bible can make the claims that these beings and that place exist, but I have no real reason to believe it.
@GARFIELDASMITH@___TheGOOdWitch I'm just interpreting the characteristics of your god as put on full display in the Bible, and there are many other adjectives I could use, none of which are positive attributes. If you read your Bible a lot more closely, you would see that.
@GARFIELDASMITH@___TheGOOdWitch Even if that was true, I'd rather burn in hell than be stripped of agency and forced to perpetually and involuntarily sing the praises of a vindictive, sadistic, prideful, and capricious god.
@NotEvolution1@AtheistTakes The Big Bang, Abiogenesis, and Evolution.
You just don't like them because they rule out "divinely-ordained creation" and knock down the pedestal upon which religious texts the world over have historically placed humans.
It is your hubris that keeps you a creationist.
@Warriorchristl@JoshuaBarzon merely just act within their own cultural subset of that nation, as many other immigrant communities have done). Not everything in that book is "kill the infidel," as Western propaganda would have you believe.
@Warriorchristl@JoshuaBarzon Having read both the Bible and the Qur'an, I can tell you firsthand that both religions are actually quite similar in their teachings. Sharia law even states that Muslims are to obey the laws of the land in which they live unless they violate the Qur'an (in which case they can...
@StevenH79048964 And lastly, what makes you so sure that the Pride parades are taxpayer funded? Everything I could find says they are funded by corporate-sponsors, vendor fees, and donations by attendees. Maybe there are some that could be subsidised at the state level, but I don’t know of any.
@StevenH79048964 The reason why there’s no “straight/heterosexual pride month” is because straight people have not needed a month of visibility. They are not a marginalised group like the LGBTQIA+ community is. When’s the last time you had heard of someone being killed solely for being straight?
