Announcement: the Level team is getting acquired by a leading DeFi protocol
Our mission has always been to build and expand access to high quality onchain financial products. Since launching nearly a year ago, lvlUSD grew to a peak market cap of $185M and slvlUSD has delivered an average APY of over 7%.
To fully realize this mission, greater scale and reach are required. Today, we are announcing that the Level team will be joining a leading DeFi protocol to accelerate the future of onchain finance.
As part of this transition, we will be sunsetting the Level protocol, including lvlUSD and slvlUSD. All users will be able to unstake their slvlUSD and redeem lvlUSD, and all cooldown periods will be reduced to 2 seconds. More details below.
We are deeply grateful for everyone that has been part of our journey so far and look forward to the next chapter.

3/ Details on unstaking and redemptions
For users with funds in Level XP Farm
Users who have lvlUSD or LP tokens for the lvlUSD/USDC or slvlUSD/lvlUSD Curve pools will be able to withdraw from the farm in 2 seconds. This cooldown reduction also applies to any redemptions in flight. Withdrawing from the Level XP Farm for the above tokens will remain a two step process.
Withdrawing all other tokens from the farming contract will continue to remain one step.

For users who have staked lvlUSD
The protocol will reduce the time to unstake lvlUSD to 2 seconds. Unstaking will remain a two step process. Note: in-flight redemptions will continue to have a cooldown period of 3 days.

lvlUSD redemptions
The protocol will:
- Make redemptions public: anybody will be able to redeem lvlUSD for underlying collateral at https://t.co/z6otmRyHYF
- Fix redemption rates to 1:1: whereas we were previously using Chainlink oracles to calculate conversion rates from lvlUSD to collateral, users will be able to convert 1:1 back to the underlying collateral
- Pause mints: no more lvlUSD will be able to be redeemed
In addition, the redemption cooldown period will be reduced to 2 seconds, and the per-block redemption limit will be increased to 1m lvlUSD per block.

For integrators
The recommended way to convert lvlUSD to underlying collateral is to call the LevelMinting to redeem instead of selling through liquidity pools.

Interacting with contracts directly
Though the front-end will remain up for several weeks, users will always be able to withdraw their funds by interacting with the smart contracts directly.
๐Instructions on how to do so will be posted here: https://t.co/AVM95SYp2k
Stablecoin transfers continue to rise alongside supply.
They are not idle reserves anymore, they are active instruments moving through the system.

When Savings Yield Comes From the Market, Not the Bank
Traditional banks like to advertise headline savings rates, but those offers usually sit behind requirements such as minimum balances, qualifying deposits, or limits on how much actually earns the published yield. Even then, the rate itself shifts at the discretion of policy rather than being tied to real credit demand.
slvlUSD takes another route. It streams yield directly from @aave and @MorphoLabs lending markets, reflecting the actual borrowing demand for stablecoins at the center of DeFi.
Over the past six months, the data has been clear:
๐น Mean yield: 8.16%
๐น Median: 8.27%
๐น Standard deviation: 1.24% (so most weeks stayed within about one percent of the mean)
๐น Minimum: 5.30% (July 04)
๐น Maximum: 10.72% (May 29)
๐น Range: 5.42%
This level of consistency matters. It shows that users are not depending on promotional hooks or active management, but on a yield flow that is transparent, verifiable, and directly connected to economic activity onchain. In practice, it behaves much like a savings account, except the source is real lending demand rather than a bankโs discretionary policy.
slvlUSD has demonstrated that stable yield can be both sustainable and accessible.
That distinction is what makes it more than just another yield source. It is a benchmark for how savings can work when the rate comes from the market itself.
