We lost grandpa earlier this month, just days after his 90th birthday.
He was a Chargers fan from the beginning, and a Ducks fan as well. 65 straight years of "some day".
I hope fans of teams that win Championships all the time appreciate it. Some people just want one parade.
Just a reminder. Coming into tonight, Justin Herbert was hit an NFL leading 129 times. 18 more than any other QB. @NextGenStats has him pressured 268 times. 39 more than any other QB. 109 quick pressures. Only QB over 100.
Running for his life all season.
Joe Buck made a great point during the game re: Rivers. The amount of people who have come out to laud, show respect, and share their own great Rivers stories the last two weeks has been a gift. This ride has been a Philip Rivers appreciation party; he never really properly got.
Highest QB Pressure Pct Faced
Single Game, @NextGenStats Era
69.2 – Sam Howell (Loss vs BUF in 2023)
68.6 – Bryce Young (Loss vs TB in 2024)
68.3 – Justin Herbert (Win tonight vs PHI)
65.9 – Josh Rosen (Loss vs KC in 2018)
Research done by UTEP presents evidence that the Chiefs have benefited from slanted officiating from 2015 to 2023, a time that coincided with their rise as one of the NFL’s most marketable franchises.

Big "what if" could end up being the 2025 Chargers. No better team in football the first 3 weeks and the injury bug has stung them in a real way.
Every team deals with this, but they've lost major major guys:
Slater
Perryman
Khalil Mack
Najee Harris
Joe Alt
Omarion Hampton
I’ve been beating the Justin Herbert drum since he was drafted.
Have considered him the best overall quarterback in the NFL for years. Would take him 1st overall in a league redraft.
I think this is the year people finally start to agree with me.
I can’t imagine an aspect of football that Joe Burrow is better at than Justin Herbert.
They win games at the same rate, and Herbert has been even better statistically despite dramatically worse coaching and receivers. Burrow has even had better defenses.
Jim Harbaugh says he recently woke up in the middle of the night thinking "I have to get Justin Herbert to the Hall of Fame."
Said it'll take a couple Super Bowls and "a lot of people would benefit" from that happening.
