All growth requires loss. A loss of your old values, your old behaviors, your old loves, your old identity. Therefore, growth sometimes has a component of grief to it.
It’s no accident the median white family wealth is $147K & median Black family wealth is $3600. In the 1940-50s the FHA gave white people home loans but denied Black people. Those $10K homes are now worth $500K
In our lifetimes US Govt robbed every Black family of half a million
acknowledging and accepting that you will make mistakes is how you truly facilitate growth. don’t be held prisoner to the things you did during your low phases or when you weren’t seeing yourself through the right lens. your shortcomings aren’t without progress.
