Lots of tweets today equating Vision Pro with iPhone 1. IMO there's a key difference:

In 2007, millions already owned smartphones - and many who didn't were considering one. iPhone was an extension of something that already had mass momentum.

VR is a much less relatable thing.

@bbhermann @frankfeil Andere sind auch nicht besser. Bei uns musste der Zahnriemen ersetzt werden. Bekanntes Problem, Kulanz kein Thema. Nur einen Termin gab es erst in drei Wochen wg. vollem Terminbuch. Haben noch andere vertragswerkstätten abtelefoniert, da waren es bis zu fünf Wochen.

@PaulTassi Meta Quest 3 will have a chance to to a lot right with the biggest problem that it’s from meta. I hope meta can push the Quest Pro now that we know the price of the Vision Pro. Sure a lot of cutting edge tech but common, this price is ridiculous.

@PaulTassi Also most manufacturers focus gaming as the main use which to this day is the wrong approach. For this to take of it has to get more powerful and cheaper. Until then it will stay a niche e within a niche.
