There is sorrow deeper than love, loftier than knowledge & more bitter than poverty. It is mute and has no voice; its eyes glitter like stars.-

Finally made it to the blue skies place. Lovely.
Found some previous & new friends. As I find more compadres from here will add them. Username now adds an 's' thats not part of @LilacFire.bsky.social
Post nubila phoebus.
This is fantastic news for Ben and his family!
But it's also another example of how badly the UCP have screwed up AISH.
Ben was forced onto ADAP, a social media outcry caused a re-evaluation and then Ben was approved AISH after they found out about a press conference.
/1
Despite her son being unable to walk, talk and requiring 24/7 care — including an overnight nurse — Kristi Hall-Busque was dumbfounded when told by AISH that he was employable.

We shouldn’t have to hold press conferences just so people can be treated with basic dignity.
Ben is fully dependent and requires wraparound care. Yet he was denied AISH and told he should get a job.
If it weren’t for his courageous mother speaking out and fighting on his behalf, who knows what would have happened to him.
Danielle Smith and the UCP should be ashamed.
Get a grip. Supreme court decisions. not govt. And FNs repeat over and over they have no intention of taking anyone's property. #BCpoli#cdnpoli#BCElection
@CounterRes2doq@Dave_Eby Groceries have never paid taxes. Food is tax-free.
And remember the 1st things @bcndp did upon being govt late 2017 was remove all bridge tolls($1800moApprox) & end (what had been ever-increasing) paying MSP out of pocket. That has saved BCers a lot of money #bcpoli#BCElection
@Dave_Eby Excellent plan.
Also: Please require: 'cost per 100ml/gr' etc-unit pricing, for comparison shopping, that seems to have disappeared.
Have it written big enough for average humans to read vs needing magnifying glasses. Thank you in advance.
Today in Kelowna I committed to taking on the grocery giants to protect your family from rising costs.
Big grocery chains have been using inflation as cover to jack up prices, while the billionaire families behind Loblaws and Save-On grew their wealth by $4.4 billion last year alone.
My plan:
1. Cap corporate profits on milk, eggs, butter, cheese, chicken and turkey
2. Stop them from blocking new grocery stores
3. End shrinkflation with clear unit pricing
4. Ban surveillance pricing
5. Give local grocers a fair shot with a new food terminal in the Lower Mainland
The conservative parties won't stand up to the grocery giants. I will.
Let's keep building BC strong.
Many prediction-market traders, and even admirers on the right are saying that Prime Minister Mark Carney could end the year with the Nobel Peace Prize, and Time magazine’s Person of the Year.
How fucking awesome would that be.
@ThisIsWillAdams@jamiljivani 1st of all, the EU extended the invitation, it was not actively pursued. 2nd, Will isn't the leader of the liberal party & last I checked, & Jamil Jivani isn't the leader of the CANTservative party. Why is he so friggin' defensive?! 3rd, making "liberal" a slur is weakness. 💩🤡
Jamil Jivani, who went to the United States and mocked Canadians, literally makes jg fun of his constituents to his MAGA buddies is judging others "Canadian First" level?
No, dude. No.
@funtomvids Govt covered up medical experiments done on children w/out consent. Canada Food Guide came from this. Vaccines, now taken for granted, came from this: Many died: the only schools w/ graveyards. Extra: St Annes had homemade electric chair #TRC#cdnpoli

@erat_perfect@luckysean Blatantly know zero re residential schools abuses. Just your opinions vs facts. There were indeed babies at times due to pedophile priests rapes. The last schools closed 1997 not 100 years ago. The use of homemade electric chair at St Annes 1 of rare times charges laid #cdnpoli
Eagerness to criticize hinders reading & comprehension ability: "one of Canada's largest private investments"
Btw ye, fakeLib, partisan Harper's pal, Clark started LNG push but Horgan, Eby etc rejected it for total lack of environmental protections. Her plan was very bad #bcpoli
There is an extreme level of cognitive dissonance in Residential School denialism. Across Canada, not just at Tk'emlups, people were harmed and permanently changed by residential schools and yes people even died, it's been known for generations.
@erat_perfect@luckysean The only #Canada schools that had graveyards. 4000+ recorded proofs(unofficial 6000+) plus the stories of babies tossed into furnaces witnessed by some of the children. Some children were forced to bury other children in out of the way areas as punishment, threats #TRC#cdnpoli
This dispute has become an excuse for anti-Indigenous rhetoric. When people use one disputed number to dismiss an entire history of documented harm, that isn't just “seeking truth.” It can become a vehicle for racism and causes additional harm to survivors and descendants.
@luckysean#TRC#cdnpoli Remember Harper ordered Residential school records destroyed, but didn't get all thanks to some civil servants & the Catholic & Anglican churches have records they refuse to share. Horrific abuses of every kind: https://t.co/JEa8XQfD9J
