@AbbieSomething A non-sports fan with us cheered and said “we won” before they called time out. I literally made him knock on wood. Then someone else with us said “that’s not going in” as he shot it, and I almost tackled them…then it rattled out! GBMFR!!!
@AbbieSomething From what I saw it was only a few fans acting this way (of course it’s always a few who ruin it for everyone), but it was seen by the entire Kearney fan base, players, and coaches.
@AbbieSomething …but things like cocking and shooting at a student section with your hands repeatedly and flipping off fans and students before the game even starts certainly don’t help matters. It’s frustrating things like that overshadow the great game that was played by both teams.
@DadofPicks@DarrenWinbergTV It’s very unfortunate these things and the altercation happened because both teams played such a good game that was close until the end. The student sections were both great and most of the fans as well. I guess sportsmanship means different things to different people…🤷♀️
@DadofPicks@DarrenWinbergTV No, they didn’t. The champions today did not celebrate the way North did at all. The few fans who behaved beyond inappropriately toward Kearney’s student section before the game did not get things off to a good start as far as tension between teams and fan bases.
@DadofPicks It truly was a great game and so fun to watch both teams battle. It’s sad and disappointing a few adults had to ruin it for everyone else and that all of this aftermath is overshadowing how great of a game it was.
@DadofPicks She was asked to leave by security but was somehow back 10 minutes later. Others were flipping the students and Kearney fans off. Kearney wore white, ON wore black. Both teams are blue. Both are common themes student sections do.
