Lipscomb University and the Tennessee World Affairs Council (TNWAC) have formalized a strategic partnership designed to expand opportunities for global education, civic engagement and professional development while strengthening connections among higher education, business, government and community leaders across Tennessee.

President Candice McQueen and former Nashville Mayor Karl Dean, chair of the TNWAC board of directors, gathered with university and council leaders on Oct. 15 to sign a memorandum of understanding establishing Lipscomb as a host institution for the nonprofit organization.

We're proud to announce the launch of a new cohort in Memphis, extending our partnership with the Tennessee National Guard beyond Nashville starting spring 2026. Lipscomb University faculty members Todd Christian and Joseph Parrish made history on Tuesday, Oct. 20, becoming the first certified anesthesiologist assistants (CAAs) to manage anesthesia cases in operating rooms in Tennessee.

The milestone, which took place at HCA Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, marks a significant advancement for anesthesia care in the state and another historic first for Lipscomb's new Master of Science in Anesthesiology program, housed in the College of Pharmacy.

Lipscomb University is pleased to welcome David Rosselli as its new senior vice president of advancement!

Rosselli brings more than 30 years of higher education advancement experience, including leadership roles at Belmont University and Baylor University, where he led comprehensive fundraising campaigns totaling over $1.1 billion.

As Lipscomb begins implementing its Lipscomb Rising 2030 strategic plan, Rosselli will provide strategic leadership to expand philanthropic partnerships and advance the university's mission.
