We discussed this shooting during our public safety press conference today. Minnesotans deserve to be safe - it’s the first duty of a government.
We need a change. We can’t afford more of the same in Minnesota.
Read my plan below. As Governor, I’ll deliver these common sense solutions.

Driverless cars forced to have drivers?
This sends the wrong message about Minnesota to businesses and innovators around the country.
When I’m Governor, these types of backwards policies will not be allowed to drive innovation out of our state.
Always enjoy talking shop with Joe Soucheray on Garage Logic. Today, we discussed my Public Safety Plan to make Minnesota safer, along with how I'll lead the way as governor to end the rampant fraud of our tax dollars that the Walz /Klobuchar status quo enabled for far too long.
Today @LisaDemuthMN and I announced our Public Safety Plan. It brings law and order back to Minnesota.
No more open-air drug markets/homeless encampments. No more revolving doors for criminals.
And as part of the plan, we’re committing to bringing safety back to the UMN campus.
Too often, anti-law enforcement politicians let violent criminals out to reoffend and hurt more Minnesotans.
Under a Demuth-Wilson administration, justice will return to Minnesota. No longer will criminals be treated as victims and actual victims ignored. Our plan to make Minnesota safer cracks down on crime, protects kids, supports law enforcement and punishes fraudsters.

Under Tim Walz, fewer than half of Minnesota students are proficient in math and reading, according to data released TODAY from the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments.
In reading, just 48.6 percent of Minnesota students met the state’s standards and only 44.9 percent of Minnesota students met the state’s proficiency-levels.
Amy Klobuchar says Tim Walz has been an ‘incredible governor who delivers for the people of Minnesota.’ Klobuchar would continue Walz’s failed education policies. Minnesota deserves better than Tim Walz 2.0.
I'm ready to lead Minnesota's Education Comeback.

Amy Klobuchar was radio silent while repeated Walz administration failures made Minnesota a top state for fraud.
The gravy train for fraudsters ends when I'm governor:

REPORT: Minnesota ranks No. 1 per capita in subjects tied to reports of suspected healthcare fraud
A new analysis from the Treasury Department's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network shows Minnesota had the highest number of subjects per capita identified in bank reports tied to suspected healthcare fraud.
Minnesota is one of 8 states out of 50 that still taxes social security. Our seniors deserve better.
I’m the only candidate in this race for governor who has fought for and committed to eliminating the social security tax for all seniors.
I’ve also fought for and committed to ending state tax on tips and overtime.
It’s time for common sense measures to make life more affordable for our seniors, service industry workers and those who pull extra shifts to support their families.

"Tim Walz's legacy will always be defined by the out-of-control fraud crisis that occurred on his watch," Demuth said. "Yet Amy Klobuchar praised him as ‘an incredible leader who delivers for the people of Minnesota.’
"As the senior member of our state’s congressional delegation, Sen. Klobuchar likewise failed to address the fraud crisis and even skipped hearings on the matter in D.C. Minnesotans deserve better than four more years of Walz-style failure."

These are jobs and investments that should be happening here in Minnesota.
Klobuchar/Walz policies have stifled job growth and expansion opportunities. As Governor, I will fight to bring investments like these to Minnesota and ensure we are competitive with our neighboring states.
Exclusive: President Trump will announce a Minnesota company’s plan to build a $15 billion steel mill in Iowa, as he looks to counter voter frustration with the economy ahead of the midterm elections https://t.co/FDR1o03PXW
We were in Lakeville this afternoon to meet with city leaders to learn more about how they're leading the way with innovations to their public safety resources with their new First Responder Skills Training Center.
It was a pleasure for me to tour this new state-of-the-art facility with my House colleagues, Rep. Jeff Witte and Rep. Jon Koznick.
Ensuring our first responders in every community across Minnesota have the training and resources they need, is a top priority for me as a legislator, and will continue to be when I'm governor.
I had a great time this morning visiting with the Brainerd American Legion Post 255 during their Commander's Breakfast and Auxiliary bake sale. Thank you to the veterans and auxiliary members for inviting me.
Our American Legion and VFW posts across Minnesota are an amazing asset to each of their communities.
When Tim Walz and Democrats had total control in St. Paul in 2023 they raised our car tab fees through the roof. In 2024, I led the charge to end their trifecta and restore fiscal sanity to our state government.
As Governor, I will ensure we permanently undo Walz's radical hike on car tab fees that none of us asked for.

From farm to table is a truth taking place right here in Minnesota.
This past week I had the pleasure of visiting with some amazing farm families across our state: Novak's Grown Right Vegetables in Foley, Molnau's dairy farm in Cologne and Christensen Farms in Sleepy Eye.
Each of these family businesses does it their own way. But the hard work they put into this profession is a universal trait shared by farmers across Minnesota.
As a longtime resident of the farm-rich Stearns County, I know what this industry and culture means to so many people. As Governor, I'll fight for our farmers and their way of life every single day.
