The Kingdom of Litoral is a micronation originally founded on May 25, 1974. It is located on an island in the Rio Minho on the Portuguese—Spanish border.

His Majesty The King, citing low levels of governmental activity, has signed a Royal Proclamation formally invoking ‘Crown Rule’ per the 2023 Constitution.

As such, the King will take direct control of the government from midnight tonight.

In honour of Squidge, Dunland’s ‘national mascot’, His Majesty The King has ordered flags across Dunland to be flown at half-mast for 3 days and has declared those days to be official days of mourning.

Squidge, Paw Prince and Lord Pawtector of Dunland has died aged 19.

There are no words for how greatly he was loved and how profoundly he’ll be missed. He was an utter blessing.

His Majesty King Stefan swore his Oath of Kingship at noon today and, in doing so, formally begins His reign as King of Dunland. Long live the King!

In a change to plans, there will be a shorter, simpler ceremony where His Majesty will take his ‘Oath of Kingship’ before the Council of State before being bestowed with the regalia of His office.

#News | After his election by the House of Commons on 31 July, the former Lord Protector has accepted the throne, effective 1 August.

His Majesty has taken the regnal name King Stefan.

A small investiture ceremony will take place in due course, likely September.

Yesterday, 15 July 2023, voters were asked if they wanted to remain a republic or become a monarchy.

75% of voters supported becoming a constitutional monarchy.

Voter turnout was 80%.

Litoral hopes that Dunland joins the micronation monarchies of the world!

House of Commons this evening debates the proposed Kingdom of Dunland Bill which would change Dunland from republican to monarchist form of government.

Opponents believe it irreversibly changes a unique system. Supporters say Dunland is effectively an elective monarchy anyway.
