It’s genuinely sad speaking to victims who are terrified of what could happen if Andy Burnham ever got into number 10.
Some fear grooming gang discussions would be pushed aside yet again. Others worry campaigners and survivors could face lawfare simply for speaking out.
The fact victims feel the need to fear politicians rather than trust them says everything.
Many advocates are already strengthening their protection. I know, I have. My @SpeechUnion membership is up to date.
@JamesMelville Virtual assistants are useless. I’ve yet to find one that can give the answers. I recently booked a table at a local pub who uses the nonsense. Told me there were no tables available for a few hours. We turned up and the place was empty.
@SuellaBraverman@peanut_astro Just when you think you’ve heard all the madness and stupidity and then you realise you haven’t. Where does this nonsense end?
@thealexbear I was looking at Starlink so joined some of the groups. It seems some have difficulty with Wi-Fi calling. I wonder what Amazon Leo will be like.
@divisionorderuk@JohnCleese Exactly so they aren’t the ones arriving illegally by boat.
The people you describe are the ones we should be helping if we can.
Very chilling authoritarian move by Andy Burnham.
He commanded Senior figures at Manchester's Fire & Rescue Service to have words with Firefighters who support Reform UK, saying it was a cause for 'concern'.
Make no mistake about it, Andy as PM will be a threat to free speech.
