"Curioso lo que hizo el Imperio Británico en sus dominios: llevó el balompié a todo el resto del mundo pero a los suyos les entregó sus deportes favoritos, y así Sudáfrica y Australia juegan al rugby, Pakistán y la India al cricket, USA a las invasiones."

Yo am I crazy or did Adidas just drop a Scotland hype video/ad based on Trainspotting?
Absolutely love it….might be rocking with them now for the tournament
This #WorldCup has reached a new low in the prostitution of the people’s game to money and power; the sport of the masses pimped out to a country that cares nothing for it, under a government that views much of the world with bigotry and disdain. #TheTimes

🇪🇸 Spain women 7s just confirmed their place in the top 8 and return to the main circuit next season. The men's 7s also have maintained their position in top 8. Whilst both men & women's sides qualified for 15s RWC. Plus Spain is also qualified for the U20 World Championship.
This mean Spain is one of only five nations in the sport alongside 🇳🇿 New Zealand, 🇦🇺 Australia, 🇫🇷 France, & 🇫🇯 Fiji currently confirmed participants in every World Rugby organised tournament.
Yet despite Spain being one of the most active Unions in the sport and now seen at all WR events (some of which they are bidding to host) they are rewarded with 0 votes from World Rugby on the council. They are allowed no voice whatsoever and are treated the same as the likes of barely active micro-Unions like Vanuatu or Greece.
The status quo WR voting system is completely unfair and unreasonably biased towards Tier 1 and does not lead to a system that favours policies that represent the global game adequately.
There is no better example of this than Spain. Even if they were given just 1 vote that would be too little when all Tier 1 Unions get 3, but for a nation active in every World Rugby event to have 0 votes remains an insult to Spanish rugby and their efforts, and also an insult to fairness, and an insult to the global game generally.
At the last WR election one candidate Abdel Benazzi pledged to change this voting system but sadly lost to Brett Robinson disgracefully defended it (with the obvious reason for that being a biased system helped him win).
That the sport is stuck with a voting system so incredibly biased towards Tier 1 is a key reason why the sport has pursued misguided policies over this decade with regards to global growth and has suffered a period of contraction. It is the number one issue that any nation stuck outside Tier 1, or anyone who cares about the global game, must lobby to change.
@NewYorkStateAG Very disappointing that as a person charged with protecting the law in our city, you marched with known war criminals, thus enabling them. Shame on you, you lost my vote going forward.
Trump's second term is heavily accelerating the decline of American power.
When he finally leaves office, the US will be fundamentally weaker and lack the respect it once commanded.
The rest of the world is already preparing for a post-American era
@TEnglishSport Stick to rugby, you write well on that. You write well on football too, but your pervasive anti-Celtic bias detracts and demeans you. Signed, an ex fan of yours

@peterdaou Much though I love her, she needs to be more explicit on where she stands re the genocide & Palestinian rights. It’s a non-negotiable moral litmus test for me and many fellow travelers. No clarity = no support. Simple
