The Government has extended the term of every sitting Brighton & Hove councillor by 1 year, making the 2027 council elections "shadow".

@BiztheBuz @sharpeleven I think you have to make comparisons because they’re both state benefits. One has received different treatment to other. Which has allowed inequality to grow and allowed a sense of generational injustice to grow both of those are toxic traits if you don’t compare you can’t fix.

Rebuild the social pact and solidarity.
We’ve enough resources for all to live well if we choose.
Just look at how much is spent in failed “defence” projects.

If you are on UC you get £400 a month if you get state pension you get £1000 a month (both excluding housing costs). None can say pensioners should get less but there needs to be parity.

The triple lock protected pensioners against the worst of austerity but other benefits were not protected. Meaning working age people suffered the brunt of austerity.

Austerity was a political choice.
