@ColinYeo1 This is probably why they wish to attack the Human Rights Act. The strange thing about xenophobia is that it leads to irrational policies. People who are against immigrants are prepared to curb their own rights provided the government tells them that it will hurt immigrants more.
A thread for the ultra-wealthy.
If you are wealthy, you may think that if the U.K. switches from an NHS-model to a private model of healthcare it will either a) be better for you, or b) will not affect you.
Here is why you are wrong…
🧵
Rishi Sunk has said that this year's public sector pay awards have been agreed in full but with no new or additional funding to cover them. There is literally no economic sense in this whatsoever. A short thread...
Here is my hot take. If you are emailing professional people using ChatGPT... We can tell.
ChatGPT always sounds like it's blowing smoke up my ass and you sound insincere.
No doubt we are at a tipping point for the future of healthcare in the U.K.
You will hear a lot of misinformation, disinformation, and barefaced lies over the next 18 months - a £200bn/yr industry is on the table.
So here are the facts…
Has the NHS been value for money?
There is no meat on the bones of this plan when it comes to the main issue within the NHS workforce - retention
Improving working conditions, morale and pay need to be done immediately otherwise you’re just filling a leaking bucket
THE MAN IN THE RIVER
Once there was a wise man, who travelled to strange lands, and as he travelled, he came to the bank of a winding river.
Edging the bank were houses, set at distances from one another here and there. The wise man walked upstream.

Really disappointed to hear an American commentator on @BBCRadio4 his morning saying that American politics is now violent 'both sides' equating Black Lives Matter protests with the January 6th insurrection. What an absolute joke, and not even challenged by the presenter. Awful.
I LITERALLY stopped working on my memo so I could read this indictment.
I am on page 24 and JESUS LUPITA NYONG'O CHRIST.
HOW this man still has the capacity to shock me after everything that's happened, i'll never know.
but I am sitting here *STUNNED*.
My silent scheming worked and I've got a seat from one of the aforementioned Sheffield jerks who didn't turn up. This train is packed though, the trolley man is trapped and the corridors are standing room only.
A train is an interesting social experiment. I'm sat on a train from Sheffield to London. From what it looks like, 98% of the seats are reserved and at least 70% of the passengers don't have seat reservations. It's like, choose how much of an asshole you're going to be.
It's like a shark tank as people watch silently which jerks from Sheffield reserved a seat but didn't turn up so their seats are now fair game.
I'm panicking because my seat is reserved from the next stop and clearly I cannot get comfortable.
So I sip my coffee and tweet.
