23,000 social-rented homes demolished over the last 10 years in London - almost double the number of the new & additional (12,050) delivered.

100 months since we lost our 72 loved ones in the Grenfell fire.
Still no justice.
As the Tower fades from the skyline, please keep Grenfell in your hearts. We will never forget — and we will not stop until justice is done.
Why not instead of this rather uninspiring build baby rhetoric why not Renovate Mate instead. There are tens of thousands of long term empty properties and not just holiday lets or probate bound buildings. These houses etc would be best used to take local people, some if whom have been waiting years, off Council waiting lists. Go on, do it. You know it makes sense.
The crucial Peckham fundraiser is live and it's building up! Massive love being shown 💚

Without lightweight wildfire PPE, firefighters face an increased risk of heatstroke, burns and exhaustion.
Last week, firefighters from five services were sent to tackle the Holt Heath blaze without proper PPE.
.@lambeth_council it's all "take, take, take". You take us to court over extortionate heating/hot water charges, then try to take our homes, while failing to properly provide said services. You're taking liberties - we deserve compensation, not eviction. #LambethInTheHotSeat
The Right to Buy Scheme has cost UK taxpayers over £200 billion and has spearheaded the housing crisis we face today.
One of the most disastrous failures of housing policy ever introduced.
If you needed proof … here it is👇🏽

The council house sell off with non replacement is a major factor in creating the housing crisis in our country but to see how much it has cost is startling. Excellent piece of research that hopefully policy makers will now take to heart and learn some lessons from.
Having spent so long reporting on Grenfell, and the devastation the loss of 72 lives has left in its wake, it sometimes just floors me that more lives have been lost than that on average every single day in Gaza for more than 600 days
The myth of @lbbdcouncil ‘s affordable housebuilding program @BeFirstLondon
The average salary in Barking is £34,430 (Varbes)
Take home pay £2,295.48.
Rent due on a 2 bed “affordable” @lbbdcouncil owned flat per month - £1,733 per month.
Council tax to Barking and Dagenham council - £186
Energy bills to B&D Energy - £170
Remaining funds - £206.
Total percentage paid to Barking and Dagenham council - 91% of take home pay.
Not so affordable is it.
(Also weird that the council appointed an agent that calls their affordable homes “Luxury”)
The only real 'rent control' that meaningfully constrains price rise and enhances affordability is increased availability of social rent homes - that's why we need to #BuyTheSupply and retrofit as social. Maintaining overpriced rents on non decent homes is a mugs game @pmcondon2
