Intraday trading does NOT mean trading throughout the day.
The best trading opportunities are usually concentrated in specific windows:
9:15 AM to 11:30 AM
1:30 PM to 3:00 PM
You don't need to sit in front of the screen from 9:15 to 3:30.
And if you've already hit your daily target or are comfortably profitable by 11:30 AM:
Switch off the terminal.
The goal is not to trade more.
The goal is to trade better.
It is incredibly tough to make money in India (legally).
1) The earning potential is low. Eg. for same job abroad you could get 2-10X what you'd be paid in India.
2) Second, even when you make money. The direct taxes are crazy high. So your net returns are now.
3) Third, even when you earn net of taxes, saving/growing it is incredibly tough.
We have high capital gains as well.
Not only we have to deal with INR depreciation. But, for handful of folks who wish to save/invest abroad, the process is not smooth.
Basically, you are forced to invest in India, even when you don't really want to.
Solution?
1) Use internet, try to build at least 1 source of income outside India. This gets you access to foreign clients.
Getting there is hard, but it is worth it.
2) Part invest abroad -- this is legal under LRS (the friction is there). But, at least stash some money in $ that grows in $.
This gives you mental peace.
3) Be hopeful (not about the government or politics -- that sucks and probably always will).
But, be hopeful about your ability. If 10 units of skills helps you earn 5 units of money. Then try to 10x your skills. That will help you at least get to 50.
Learn skills on multiple dimensions. Eg. I have read at least 100 posts encouraging people that you should not worry about investing. And, rather use time to gain skills.
See that's not the point: investing is a skill too. It does not require any special talent or tools. Anyone can learn it. That's one of the many things that you can learn.
Build skills on everything (especially investing). Because that directly hits your money. And, money impacts your freedom and opportunities.
