One thing these Jay Z concerts are proving more than ever… real life and the internet/social media are 2 different realities… it’s beyond night and day lol
J. Cole has released The Fall-Off Magazine:
"Built in the spirit of the rap magazines that shaped generations, the issue brings together more than 60 writers, photographers, illustrators, designers, artists, and creative collaborators to honor Hip-Hop's past, document its present, and explore the ideas still pushing the culture forward."
I was a menace with how disrespectful I was with Rap's evolution post 2010. Even the 'big 3' was diminished (early on). Now THEY RUN SHIT and it's 'fuck them old ass dusty boom bap raps' lol. Legends = 'old & washed'. I get it. Gotta reap what ya sow. Hard pill to swallow.
I remember this album literally being played EVERYWHERE for YEARS. It was absorbed and/or loved by so many but when the word ‘classic’ came up, everyone got ‘picky’ lol. Ironically, it REMINDS me of what happened with some Drake albums actually. So many parallels b/t these two
They are showing you that THEY believe he is one of the greatest of all time without flat out saying it. The standards/expectations change when you are in rare air.
My Problem Is … Why Do They ONLY ASK DRAKE To “Grow Up”?? When It’s Niggaz In Hip Hop That’s OLDER THAN DRAKE, Rappin Bout The SAME SHIT Drake Raps About 🤨 But For Some Reason, They All Get Passes
Who is Wale's 'Rap Ancestor'? He's always sounded like his own thing to me. What rap family tree does he belong to? Such a creative, authentic talent that needs to be appreciated more for his contributions.
