٢- إضافة الى دور الهيئة في دعم إستكشاف الطاقة في أراضي المملكة عبر تنفيذ برامج إستكشاف وتقييم المصادر الجيولو��ية الواعدة لإستثمار الطاقة الأرضية الحرارية لتحقيق مستهدفات رؤية المملكة 2030. كما تم إستعراض دور IGA في مساعدة دول العالم في إستكشاف وتطوير هذا المصدر الطبيعي المتجدد.

تعتبر مبادرة:
(تقييم واستكشاف مصادر الطاقة الحرارية الأرضية).

واحدة من أهم مبادرات المحافظة على #البيئة ضمن #روية_٢٠٣٠ وذلك عن طريق أستخدام الطاقة النظيفة والتي تشرف عليها هيئة المساحة الجيولوجية السعودية:

حيث أظهرت الدراسات السابقة على وجود دلائل جيدة لتوفر مصادر للحرارة الجوفية في المملكة العربية السعودية تشمل:

١-مناطق التدفق الحراري المرتفعة والتي تتواجد في المناطق البركانية، وكذلك أخدود البحر الأحمر والعيون الحارة المنتشرة على طول الساحل الغربي للبحر الأحمر مثل منطقة الليث ومنطقة جازان.

٢-النشاط الإشعاعي لعناصر اليورانيوم والثوريوم والبوتاسيوم والمتواجدة بنسبة مرتفعة في بعض الصخور الجرانيتية.

وتعتبر الطاقة الحرارية الأرضية من أكثر مصادر الطاقة المتجددة الواعدة حيث من أهم مزايا استخدام الطاقة الحرارية الأرضية انها متجددة (100%) وذات احتراق نظيف مع انخفاض الانبعاثات وإنتاجيه عالية للطاقة وكذلك استقرار الحمل الأساسي للتيار الكهربائي وذات تكلفة مالية متدنية على المدي الطويل.
وكمرحلة أولى سوف تنحصر الدراسة على تقييم الصخور الجرانيتية ذات المحتوى الإشعاعي العالي كمصدر للطاقة الحرارية الأرضية لتوليد الكهرباء ومن ثم المرحلة الثانية تشمل مناطق التدفق البركاني وأخيرا كمرحلة ثالثة مناطق العيون الحارة.

Hawaii's only geothermal power plant, Puna Geothermal Venture, paid $1,888,087.79 in royalties to the State for Fiscal Year 2022. For statutory distributions, 30%/$566,426.34 went to County of Hawaii and 20%/$377,617.56 went to OHA.
