@LasagneWest@ZLaner they're all his friends and have been friends with him for years. It's hard. You don't just forget all the good times you had with someone when you find out they fucked up. They probably all want to pretend it didn't happen but it did and they have to address that.
@Dexerto I don't think that's even legal, there are laws around child assault cases and the content itself. Whoever were to drop it would get rocked. Think about it, you screenshot something illegal and you now have a copy of something illegal
@Nicholai_Korea@GoldenTatsu@DrDisrespect why would you be telling crude jokes to a minor in DMs? I don't talk to minors in real life let alone on the internet. Why would I? It's not normal behavior. Grown men aren't friends with minors. It's fucking weird.
@tmanhuge@timthetatman he talks about intent which is bullshit. I was snapping a woman who I knew had a boyfriend once and I also veered into inappropriate. Did I intend to get dirty snaps from her? YUP. if her boyfriend caught me? NOPE.
Doc is doing the same thing.
@LegendsMeta420 @tmanhuge@Daroff85@timthetatman It was the same year, he was probably in all sorts of DMs at the time. Looking for a target at twitchcon which is where the cheating happened.
@huehuehyu@brandonsflurs@0x_Imperius@timthetatman for sure, if they knew beforehand they wouldn't have updated his contract. I'm not sure if it was reported in 2020 or what. I assume so. There was a policy change involving messaging minors too. I dunno if it was before or after they knew.
@Bisco_761@0x_Imperius@timthetatman yup. After that dropped it made doc in violation. In fact they might have made the change BECAUSE of him. Before that maybe they couldn't actually do anything because of the way their terms were worded so they knew doc was doing it but couldn't stop him at the time
@MattBonam @WireDforAwhile@0x_Imperius It obviously wasn't the minor because he would have got actual charges. He was probably in multiple DMs at that time.
@0x_Imperius@timthetatman I saw a video where the guy was talking about how twitch changes their terms regarding protecting minors on their platform and anyone in violation would be perma banned. It was right before docs ban. Perhaps he wasn't in violation until the rule change.
@JayB_210@timthetatman he knew. If he didn't he would have played that card. Why wouldn't he have? Changes the whole narrative from I targeted a minor to, I was being a cheating scumbag and accidentally dmed a minor. very very different. We already knew doc cheated.
@canefan4_real@timthetatman dude... we all know doc was probably saying/implying completely inexcusable stuff to this minor. It's just being written to downplay it. It sucks. Doc was a big part of my daily ritual for years. It's over our friend is a scumbag
@Jonnyboy975 @YellowFlashGuy@12am there was no criminal case and it was a minor so the messages will probably never be released. In fact the settlement was probably to protect the minor as well. If twitch just paid doc to fuck off they don't have to expose the minor to scrutiny
@SportsIsLife234@evoli why would they wait 4 years to drop it lol sounds like some bullshit. Also you know some overzealous one would just drop it without verifying.
@2A_Jameson@Teridax@TheQuartering@DrDisrespect Well... DMing a minor isn't Illegal, it's weird cus unless you're telling them when soccer practice is and your the coach or something there is no reason to ever DM them but it's not illlegal. It's illegal to sext them. The truth could be somewhere inbetween
