No one country can deal with today’s challenges alone.
That's why, with @GovernmentZA@CIFFchild@BritishIntInv, we’re uniting governments, investors, innovators and civil society at the Global Partnerships Conference.
Complex global problems call for broad coalitions ⤵️
Day 1 at the Global Partnerships Conference ⬇️
Big conversations. Bold commitments. Real momentum.
An important step forward in how we work together to tackle shared global challenges.
➡️ What should international development look like?
➡️ How should we tackle violence against women and girls?
➡️ How can tech and AI make life easier for everybody?
Answers from day 1 of the Global Partnerships Conference ⬇️
We need to work differently to meet today’s global challenges.
Today, with partners, we have made our commitment clear.
Driving reform that mobilises finance, harnesses technology and puts local leadership first – delivering shared benefits in an interconnected world.
Two days of action, ambition and collaboration.
The Global Partnerships Conference showed what genuine partnership in the 21st century looks like.
New ideas. New investment. New coalitions.
Women and girls deserve to live free from fear of violence.
We won’t have peace, security or prosperity until they do.
With our partners, the UK is setting up a new International Coalition to End Violence Against Women and Girls.

New: the UK is to nearly double aid for Sudan as the humanitarian crisis there deepens.
Millions are displaced and facing catastrophic hunger conditions.
The UK aid package announced today will help save lives.
Today is International #EducationDay.
Since 2015, #UKaid has supported at least 19.8 million children around the world to gain a decent education, including 10 million girls.
Education is a human right. It is vital to achieving gender equality and breaking the cycle of poverty.
With partnerships, innovation and technology, we are capable of feeding all the people on our planet.
That's what today's Global Food Security Summit was all about. It can be done.

No child should go to bed hungry. And yet, 1 in 15 around the world are wasted.
An estimated one million children a year die because of wasting.
Many of us are parents. The thought of our own children suffering from malnutrition is intolerable.
The thought of anyone’s child suffering in this way is intolerable.
That thought must drive us to action. And there is something we can do.
Because these deaths are predictable and preventable.
As we mark #WorldChildrensDay today, I joined 🇬🇧 hosted Food Safety Summit in London. My full remarks:
