@Atrios Soc. Sec. did not face an insolvency crisis in 1983, just handwringing from sophists convincing the powers that be that the baby boom bulge would cause huge problems. The so-called solution caused boomers to fund current retirees and their own retirements through the trust fund
@Atrios I've always thought after anthropogenic climate disruption basically ends civilization, so-called conservatives will blame James Hansen and Al Gore for making them mad.
@davidsirota Every justice appointed since 1970 has been more conservative than the justice being replaced. And many of those appointed by troubling have been reactionaries
@DanThomasESPN For Ale, are you disappointed that Mallorca did not get relegated, since this will mean another year of hearing Dan Thomas call it Mee-yorka?
@TVAnswerMan Any DIRECTV customer who thinks it will be better after merging with Dish doesnβt know people who have worked for Dish. Just further and further downhill we go from the good old days.
@DanThomasESPN Is anyone interested in the A-League this year? I think it starts tonight in the early morning (something like 3:45 eastern time). And can we watch the A-League on ESPN+ again this year?
@SethRudetsky Maybe my favorite musical theater memory is volunteering to play drums for a retirement home "You're a Good Man." You haven't lived until you watch a bunch of 80-somethings pretend to be six!
@tomtomorrow@FAIRmediawatch Nice to see this Fairness & Accuracy In Reporting (FAIR) 10th-anniversary mug make an appearance in their celebration of 35 years!
ESPN insists on ruining my enjoyment of today's Euro final by replacing Robson with Twellman. I enjoy listening to Ian Darke, but I'm gonna have to mute, so I don't have to hear all the adjectives from Twellman. Nothing's ever just good, but it's brilliant or better.
