In today's rollup world, we have two types (EVM & altVM) rollups:

altVM/non-EVM:
@cartesiproject
@fluentxyz
@movementlabsxyz
@fuel_network
@LayerN_Official
@lumioFDN
@0xPolygonMiden
@EclipseFND
@soon_svm
@initiaFDN minitia's
@TalusNetwork
@solana VM
and others...

It is of my belief that in the future the scaling capabilities of modular L2s, such as EVM (@megaeth), based rollups (@risechain & @Spire_Labs) or the altVM rollups listed above, using altDA layers like @CelestiaOrg, @AvailProject, @0G_labs, @nufflelabs, @eigen_da, @SunriseLayer will outperform other L2 composabilities.

This will be the closest thing to a high TPS L1, imo.

You need to somehow combine Solana's parallelization and local fee markets, with Ethereum's baselayer security, IBC-like interoperability, and Aptos' Move language programmable security.

This all has to be done in a state minimized manner, to prevent state bloat and scale with a UX which abstracts gas payments and cross-chain powered by teams like @OneBalance_io, @burnt_xion @ParticleNtwrk, @HallidayHQ, @NEARProtocol, @okto_web3, @0xAarc and blockchain level abstraction solutions like AggLayer, @hyperlane, @lifiprotocol, @Calderaxyz Metalayer, @union_build and others.

I think fast finality, such as zk verification layers from @ZKVProtocol and @alignedlayer are important here.

While I believe the EVM is here to stay, I'm very excited about the innovation happening in the altVM space, who are aiming to build highly performant L2s utilizing altDA providers.

Building purpose-built blockchains with better tooling is the future of L2s. This piece below from 2077 Research is a really good in-depth dive into the execution space.
