I had to ask about three times which “part of the surgical team” the person seeing her was (they knew I was a consultant). “Come back if it gets worse” (I did point out that that was exactly what we’d done)

Another myth about congenital heart disease is that once the patient has had surgery, their problems will be solved. However this is just the start of the journey.
