I've recently been mostly silent on Twitter not because I've ceased 2 care abt issues like DACA & refugees & racism & #silenceisnotspiritual & gun violence, but because an eye condition has forced me 2 limit screen use for a few months. I do remain, however, prayerful & engaged.
Thanks @drjamieaten for signing this petition. I hope many Christians will join us in calling for responsible action against the tragedy of America's senseless gun violence. https://t.co/He0klrk4Uo
As a founding signer with @MaxLucado@lynnehybels and others, I'm supporting this petition calling Christians across the country to declare that we will decisively respond to the gun violence problem in America with both prayer AND action. https://t.co/wSYcWoxgto
Followers of Jesus must take seriously the very real current needs of #Dreamers & other immigrants & refugees. Please follow @MatthewSoerens & @JennyYangWR & @WorldRelief. If the plight of immigrants & refugees doesn't break your heart, I think u probably just need to learn more. https://t.co/0bJh4arbp5
To heroes in the US & across the globe--of every race, culture & religion--who r showing up again 2day 2 serve refugees, immigrants & all vulnerable people--& 2 stand 4 peacemaking & against racism, gender-based violence & religious persecution: u are "extremists for love." #MLK
Or listen to the "Letter from Birmingham City Jail" read by Dion Graham on Audible. 52 minutes. Unless, like me, you know you need to listen to it again.... https://t.co/0q1DOOyLVJ
Have you recently read the letter that contains this quote? This #MLKDay, honor the legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the ongoing work of justice by reading the entire "Letter from Birmingham City Jail." >> https://t.co/lFzhUDspgi
2day I have the privilege of reading a soon-2-b published MS by 1 of my heroes--an 80-something African Am pastor & reconciler calling the Church 2 God's vision of 1 united humanity. I weep thru each page, grieved by the violation but gripped by the hope of this glorious vision.
@lynnehybels Let the words of #MLK challenge us all today: "Will we be extremists for hate, or will we be extremists for love? Will we be extremists for the preservation of injustice, or will we be extremists for the cause of justice?" #MLKDay2018@justiceteamwork
"What new things might God want to do in my life right now? Can I let him challenge me? | In prayer, ask him to show you what these things might be?" These are the questions raised in my reading this morning as I pondered, at this sad time in our country, the challenges of #MLK
You can watch this service on https://t.co/YTUbDdjfwl at 5:30pm today or 9 & 11:15am tomorrow. My husband @BillHybels has been working really hard on his #MLK sermon. https://t.co/MM18pCoYOr
In 2001 my church began instituting #MLKWeekend in our annual church calendar, focusing on teachings of #MLK & the tragic legacy of systemic racism. Some people left, but our church has been transformed. So grateful for this much-needed emphasis this weekend. @WillowCreekCC
In my prayers this morning: 25 Israeli Jews & Palestinian Arabs meeting 4 3 days 2 discuss theological, political & cultural differences. Why? To honor the image of God in each other & to work toward the mutual flourishing of both groups. I learn so much from my global friends.

@AnnVoskamp @hannahpaasch @andysavage@chrisconlee@JenHatmaker After 2 days off media 2 focus on a personal project, I discovered this story last night. Just read Jules blog in which she details how she was sexually violated & then silenced. Sexual violation causes a deep soul wound. Silencing & covering up compounds that wound & must stop.
