Thrilled to share that two of our abstracts were accepted for poster presentation at the 2026 Crohn’s & Colitis Congress in Las Vegas! 🎉
Deep gratitude to my mentors and colleagues @MAOS_13 — the @KUSM_Wichita GI faculty, @MayoClinicFLGIH faculty; Dr. @JHashashMD , and Dr. @FarrayeIBD — for their mentorship, support, and guidance throughout this work.
Honored to keep contributing to IBD, LT, and PSC research. Excited for Las Vegas in January!

#OccupyMOH like never before. Imeanza.
@MOH_Kenya Are you guys proud of this? You've frustrated and humiliated hardworking and intelligent young Kenyans by holding our futures hostage. Are you guys happy? Qualified doctors are seeking house help jobs despite the shortage of doctors we have in our facilities

This idea that we should mess our country and then force our people to run somewhere else is a very strange form of cruelty that needs mental health experts to study.
Before 2010, 7 out of 8 doctors used to quit employment and pursue greener pastures in USA, UK, iNGOs and private sector.
By 2012 we had achieved retention of 4/8 doctors.
And by 2017, the retention rate jumped to 6/8 doctors.
This is also the period that Maternal Mortality improved from 488/100,000 live births (2009 census) to 355/100,000 live births (2019 census). It is the period our life expectancy as a country shot up by 5 years on both gender.
Now the maternal mortality is heading upwards to near 400/100,000 live births.
The single most useful intervention here was access to ‘skilled workforce’ to tackle ‘post-partum hemorrhage’ - a cause for 50% deaths at childbirth.
But we must force ALL young drs into economic and career asylum because we can’t relate their value in our sweet speeches of reducing maternal mortality to 70/100,000 by 2030.
