@musictoldme@abysmal_doll@geokonic Yes! It’s been totally cleared up now. Mikey has a much much much better rep in the public eye, but at the time it was like wtfffff lol.
@abysmal_doll@musictoldme@geokonic While exaggerating an image to seem edgy (that would’ve been characterized as ratchet or ghetto for a black artists or a poc) then returning back to a “safe” aesthetic and sound (country in this case)
Mikey’s still the goat though but hopefully this adds context
@abysmal_doll@musictoldme@geokonic I don’t remember the exact comment if someone else can pull it up, but anyways it just left a bad taste in a lot of people’s mouth. It tends to be the common theme (ex post Malone) of majority few artists partaking in more urban sounds for a record or two to exceed sales
@casey_4pf@arphnrn@itstoekneeyoh It’s X-men lol…. They’ve always done exceptionally well. She’ll be fine. Plus it’s rogue of all characters. She will be set
@BlackMedia___ You’re literally a black media entertainment page… and this is the topic you want to bring up and dissect? Did the whole concept of this album go over your head or are the clicks really worth it?
Would have been nice if they had used the Fantastic Four movie to establish this relationship so we didn’t have to do all that legwork in an Avengers movie… but what do I know, I’m just a dude on twitter
