Solero Technologies expanding operations in Water Valley

Automotive parts manufacturer Solero Technologies is expanding its operations in Water Valley.

The MDA is providing assistance through the MS Flexible Tax Incentive, or MFLEX, program. The Yalobusha County Econ Dev District is supporting the project, as well.

This includes the addition of 14 new manufacturing lines at the facility, & upgrades to support Solero’s production capacity. These include improvements to electrical systems, information technology infrastructure, HVAC systems, compressed air systems, roofing & flooring.

The project represents a corporate investment of more than $14 million and will create 86 new jobs.Solero Technologies is a leading global supplier of actuator and solenoid valve solutions for the automotive industry and other industrial sectors.

Lawmakers Secured NIST Funding in FY2026 Appropriations to Renovate & Equip Research Space

The project will update research space that has not been renovated in nearly 30 years. The planned improvements will help expand and modernize the UMMC cancer research program.

The funding will be used to support the renovation and equipping of approx. 14,000 square feet of space in the UMMC Research Wing. “Upgrading this space at UMMC is just one more step toward creating a facility that will draw more cancer researchers to our state,” said Hyde-Smith.

Hyde-Smith and Guest, who serve on the Senate and House Appropriations Committees, respectively, secured the FY2026 funding through the National Institute of Standards and Technology, an agency within the U.S. Department of Commerce.

U.S. Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.) & U.S. Rep. Michael Guest (R-Miss.) have announced the award of a $2.4 million federal grant to rehabilitate research space at the UMMC as part of the research hospital’s long-term goal of being designated a National Cancer Institute (NCI).
