Had an excellent meeting with Dr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam, the Prime Minister of Mauritius. We met at the start of the year during the AI Summit and now we have the chance to meet in Seychelles.
We discussed ways to strengthen the India-Mauritius partnership. The progress being made across every area of our Enhanced Strategic Partnership is a matter of satisfaction for us. A number of projects are being implemented under our Special Economic Package.
We also discussed the way ahead with regard to sectors such as capacity building, skilling, defence, energy, cyber security and more.

Those who have contributed the least to climate change should not bear the greatest burden of its consequences.
Climate action must be guided by fairness, responsibility and equity.
India will always work to ensure that the concerns of the Small Island Developing States receive the attention they deserve.

For us, Seychelles is a large ocean country whose strides in the Blue Economy, sustainability and several other sectors are very inspiring.

Recognition for championing Climate Action globally!
The conferment of the ‘Guardian of the Blue Horizon’ distinction on PM underscores his leadership and commitment to advancing environmental conservation, climate change action and sustainable development. Let’s join hands for a greener planet.
Grateful to the people and Government of Seychelles as well as President Herminie for conferring upon me the ‘Guardian of the Blue Horizon.’
I humbly accept this honour and dedicate it to all those countries that are fighting the challenge of climate change and consider environmental protection their responsibility towards future generations. This is a pressing challenge which we have to overcome together.
India, on its part, stands ready to do whatever is required in making our planet greener and sustainable. This is reflected in our various domestic policies, emphasis on Mission LiFE and global efforts like the International Solar Alliance, Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure and more.
