Visited the Giant Tortoise Enclosure at the Seychelles National Botanical Garden with President Dr. Patrick Herminie.
The Aldabra Giant Tortoise, which is native to Seychelles, is among the largest and longest-living species on Earth, with some of them witnessing over two centuries of history.
The Aldabra Giant Tortoise also have an association with the special friendship between India and Seychelles. In 2014, two of them were gifted to the Alipore Zoo in Kolkata. A few years later, Seychelles gifted a few more tortoises to Hyderabad Zoo.

A very special ceremony, highlighting a shared commitment to a greener planet!
At the Seychelles National Botanical Garden, took part in the Joint Tree Plantation Ceremony with President Dr. Patrick Herminie.
We planted the iconic Coco de Mer, which is unique to Seychelles. Respected widely in Seychelles, it is featured on its coat of arms too. People here celebrate the Coco de Mer for producing among the largest seeds and the heaviest fruits.
India and Seychelles share a common resolve to safeguard biodiversity, promote environmental stewardship and leave behind a greener, healthier planet for future generations.

Amazing cultural connect!
The welcome at the airport in Seychelles included a dance from Kutch.
The manner in which our diaspora has preserved and celebrated culture from different parts of India is appreciable.
Landed in Seychelles.
Deeply appreciate the warm welcome extended at the airport by Dr. Patrick Herminie.

As India takes up the BRICS Chairship in 2026, Union Minister Shri @mlkhattar writes that India seeks to place the Global South at the centre of a secure, resilient, equitable and sustainable global energy future.
He highlights India's belief that resilient energy systems are built not only through strong domestic policies but also through stronger international partnerships.
Prime Minister @narendramodi has departed for Seychelles on a State Visit. PM last visited Seychelles in 2015. The visit also coincides with 50 years of establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Seychelles.
As a key maritime neighbour and important partner in India’s Vision MAHASAGAR, PM’s visit to Seychelles will further strengthen our longstanding and people-centered partnership.

Leaving for Seychelles, where I will take part in their National Day celebrations. This year, it is even more special because it is the Golden Jubilee celebrations.
Seychelles is a valued maritime neighbour and a key partner in our Vision MAHASAGAR, as well as in advancing the interests of the Global South. I look forward to discussions with my friend, Dr. Patrick Herminie, President of the Republic of Seychelles.
I am honoured to be addressing the National Assembly of Seychelles during the visit. I also look forward to meeting the Indian community there.

Delighted to meet colleagues from the Indian Foreign Service 2010 batch undergoing Mid-Career Training Program-II.
Underscored the importance of preparing a foreign policy for #ViksitBharat.
As they assume greater responsibilities in service, their experience, capabilities and judgements become all the more important.
Wish them all the best in the years ahead.
The global rebalancing and fragmentation underway necessitates greater international cooperation.
It also makes a powerful case for deeper engagement between like-minded partners like India and the Republic of Korea.
Highlights of my visit to Seoul and Jeju.
